


Kumbh Mela 2013 Allahabad is one of the largest sanctum of all melas in the whole world. The Purna (complete) Kumbh or Maha Kumbh, the biggest and the most providential fair is always held in Allahabad. Allahabad is also known as Prayag is a city in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It has a important position in Hindu holy writ, for it’s location at Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the holy rivers Ganges,Yamuna and the Saraswati River.
Last time Maha Kumbh Mela was in 2001 and millions of pilgrims took a holy dip in Sangam at Allahabad (Prayag) on the Mauni Amavasya on the 24th January 2001. More than 60 million people participated in Maha Kumbh Mela which was the single largest gathering that had ever been recorded in 2001. In Kumbh Mela 2013, more than 85 millon people are expected to participate.
